Vakhushti Menabde is a specialist in political law. GYLA General Assembly elected him as a member of the Board in November 2018 and in January 2019, the Board approved him as Director of Program of Support for Democratic Institutions.

Vakhushti has been delivering lectures at various universities in Georgia since 2010. Since 2015 he is a professor at Ilia State University and leads undergraduate and master courses in constitutional law;

Since 2018, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Constitutional Court at Constitutional Court of Georgia;

In 2016-2017 he was the head of Human Rights Direction at Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA);

Vakhushti Menabde was a member of the State Constitutional Commission in 2016-2017;

2015-2018 Vakhushti was a member of the monitoring team of implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and in 2013-2014 he was a member of the Special Preventive Group of National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), envisaged by the Optional Protocol to the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment at the Public Defender’s Office;

In 2013-2015, Vakhushti held the position of director of the Institutional Reform Support Program at Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center (EMC), before that in 2010-2013 he worked at the Georgian Young Lawyers' Association for the position of a lawyer in the Project of Transparency and Accountability;

In 2008-2010 he worked at the Public Defender's office on the position of the specialist of the Freedom and Equality Division, and later he became the Head of the Center of Rights for Persons with Disabilities;

Vakhushti Menabde is also engaged in research activities. At different times, he was involved in preparing more than 20 analytical research documents. Among them, he is an author/co-author of 11 academic articles, 8 research, and 2 textbooks.

From 2007 Vakhushti Menabde represents the plaintiffs' interests in the Constitutional Court of Georgia (up to 30 cases).

Vakhushti Menabde has been collaborating with various media editions since 2010, his articles and blog posts are published in such editions such as magazines "Tskheli Shokoladi", "Liberali", "Forbes" and "Indigo".

Vakhushti Menabde received a Bachelor's degree in law at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University and Master's degree in sociology at Ilia State University.
