European Implementation Network (EIN)

Date: 25 Apr 2019

GYLA has been a member of the European Implementation Network (EIN) since March 2019. The network incorporates 35 members from 23 countries and helps the member organizations advocate for the enforcement of judgments/decisions delivered by the European Court of Human Rights before relevant structures of the Council of Europe.

As of today, GYLA has successfully litigated more than 25 cases before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the majority of which are at the executive stage in the Committee of Ministers. Effective implementation of judgments/decisions rendered by the European Court of Human Rights is an important instrument for restoration of violated rights and further prevention of human rights violations.

Accordingly, membership of the European Implementation Network gives GYLA the opportunity:

- To develop relations with the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which supervises the enforcement of judgments/decisions;

- To actively participate in regular meetings between members of the Committee of Ministers and NGOs;

- To effectively advocate for challenges and issues concerning the enforcement of cases.
