The Coalition for Equality responds to another fact disseminated through the media on the abduction of an underage girl for the marriage purposes in Kvemo Kartli and the alleged ineffective response of the Police to the above fact. [1] The Coalition believes that such incidents of violence are the result of the State’s discriminatory policy in relation to the crimes in which victims are women and girls. The State's failure to prevent, investigate and punish the violent acts against women violates the principle of equality as stipulated in the law and is discriminatory towards women. [2]

The Georgian Young Lawyers' Association (GYLA) has carried out monitoring of the Prime Minister's initiative of December 9, 2016 concerning 10% reduction of budgetary expenditure and possible optimization of staff in public institutions. The aim of the monitoring was to analyze the reduction and reorganization process of budget expenditure in budgetary institutions, to evaluate the compliance of the reorganization process with the Georgian legislation, to identify existing deficiencies and prepare recommendations.

Pursuant to the court judgment of May 2, 2017, Irakli Khoperia, who was refused to be considered as victim by the Prosecutor's Office, was recognized as a victim by the Tbilisi City Court and considered that there were sufficient grounds for the Prosecutor’s Office to issue a resolution on the recognition of Irakli Khoperia as victim.

The draft Law of Georgia on the Procedure for the Expropriation of Property for Pressing Social Needs has been submitted to the Parliament of Georgia the purpose of which is to improve the regulations of expropriation.
