GYLA - ADJARA TV'S EDITORIAL POLICY IS FACING TO DANGER OF CHANGE

Date: 24 Feb 2020

On February 19, 2020, the Advisory Board of Adjara Public Broadcasting supported the staff list submitted by the Director, according to which the positions of the Deputy Chiefs were abolished.

Although the majority of staff in the organization were not informed of the changes and the issue was not thoroughly studied, the Advisory Board did not consider the motions to postpone the discussion of the matter and made the decision the same day.

According to the changes, along with the abolition of the positions, other positions have also been created in the relevant departments with the number of canceled positions. However, the deputy chief of news service has not been offered a position considered by the new staff list. According to the information, a person appointed to one of the positions was not employed in Adjara TV today.

Processes going in the Adjara Public Broadcaster, including changing staff lists, raise suspicions that individuals are being removed from the information policy, recruiting new employees and changing the editorial policy of the channel.
