The Public Defender of Georgia, on the basis of an application of Mirtag Asadov, submitted a General Proposal to MP Emzar Kvitsiani, urging the MP not to encourage discrimination against any vulnerable groups and to abide the requirements of the Code of Conduct laid down for Members of Parliament.

Today, journalist Eka Kvesitadze filed an application with the Public Defender's Anti-Discrimination Mechanism requesting to investigate her case and establish the fact of discrimination. Her legal representation is provided by the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association.

According to the disputed media reports, the Court found Papuna Ugrekhelidze innocent and held that he did not carry out any violence or sexual harassment while he was working as the Chairman of the Public Registry.
