Elections 2018: Election Day Observation Results by 21:00

Overall, the Election Day was calm and voters had a possibility to express their will in the free environment. According to information provided by GYLA observers, the violations, identified during the voting process (between 08:00 and 20:00) did not have a significant impact on the electoral process.

Another court hearing scheduled on the case of Zaza Saralidze and Malkhaz Machalikashvili V the MIA-Arbitrary and unlawful restriction of setting up tents.  

The case of Tbilisi Aviation Factory is a clear example of whether or not justice has been restored. For six years the current government has been fighting to keep property misappropriated by the previous government through illegal and violent means. 

The Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) continues the monitoring of the election / political processes until the second round of the 2018 presidential election.

GYLA defended a woman who denounced Zviad Devdariani for sexual harassment and addressed the Public Defender with the aim of finding sexual harassment. Women began to talk publicly about sexual harassment by Zviad Devdariani from March 17, 2018.
